Click a card to see that trade across all states and 23 Vienna districts. The first coloured badge shows how crowded the market is per capita in Vienna. The second badge shows whether the market is currently moving (frequent registrations and de-registrations) or quiet.

Note: detail pages are in German. Interface labels and FAQs will be translated progressively — the underlying data is identical.

Frequently asked questions

What data sources do you use?
Our data comes from the Austrian GISA dataset (active trade licenses, data.gv.at, CC-BY 4.0, updated monthly), population statistics from Statistik Austria and the City of Vienna (CC-BY 4.0), and OpenStreetMap for visible competitor map (ODbL).
What is the churn indicator?
Saturation alone only tells you how crowded a market is. The churn indicator measures how much a market moves — regular additions and departures of businesses. A saturated market with high churn can be easier to enter than a quiet, crusty one because seats become available.
How much does the market check cost?
The full market check — density, trend, churn, demographics, districts — is and stays free. For EUR 49 one-time you can order the Marktgründer-Paket: a complete PDF report, Excel raw-data export, and 12 months of automatic updates. SEPA bank transfer, Austrian small-business VAT exemption (no VAT), no subscription, no third-party fees.
Is this data tracked or stored?
No. This site loads no third-party resources, sets no cookies, uses no trackers. The only requests go to our own server for the static data.
Can I verify the numbers myself?
Yes. Every number traces back to the official GISA snapshots on data.gv.at. The density formula (per 10 000 residents) and churn calculation (sum of absolute monthly deltas over 11 months, normalized by mean) are documented — no black box, no proprietary model.
How often is the data updated?
Monthly — GISA publishes the previous month's snapshot in the first week of each month. We re-parse the CSV, recompute density/churn/trend, and automatically redeploy. The timestamp shown on each page reflects the snapshot date.
Is the Marktgründer paid report in English?
The current report is German-only (Austrian regulatory context, references to WKO + GISA). English translation is planned for mid-2026 — if you need it earlier, email us and we will prioritize.
Does Gewerbecheck work for non-Austrian residents?
The data itself is Austria-specific (GISA covers only Austrian trade licenses), but the analysis tool is usable by anyone — including foreign residents researching market opportunities in Austria before relocating or expanding. The German-language niche pages have the deepest data; the English version covers core Vienna data for now.
